![]() ![]() UPDATE: I went to this page to download the WPX3 SP1 (English). ![]() One might expect conflicts with older software itself when- years later - Windows itself is changed by Microsoft. So I don't think it's a Corel issue, unless they recently changed the SPs on their site - something that makes no sense, especially since the WPX3 is beyond its support period. Note that these dates precede the release of Windows 7 - which I think was October 2009, which was 2-1/2 years after the last update in question. (These are likely to be shortly after these items were posted on the Corel FTP site, since it is my practice to "grab" them ASAP.) the file dates for WPX3 service packs and hotpatches I downloaded years ago are as follows: (By the way, both those versions work fine, including applying the latest patches to them.)īut. I don't have any versions of WP earlier than WPX4 installed on my Windows 7/64bit desktop or a Windows7/32bit netbook, so I cannot test. So, how can one dowhnload and install Office X3 servicepacks/updates/patches on my Windows 7 machine? However, I ruled that out as the problem because either Windows 7 or Corel's Downloader won't even allow the file to be saved to the Windows Desktop.ĭespite multiple searches, I was unable to find anything close to this issue in the Corel "Knowledge base". Then I get a boilerplate dialog box that states the either the intended target program can't be found, or is out-of-date, etc.Īt first I thought that updates/servicepacks for Office X3 were looking for the Windows XP file structure. First I get security warnings, but I override these. Specifically, I cannot even save the update/servicepack file to my Windows desktop, much less install it. No Office X3 updates will install on my Windows 7 machine. My antivirus program (Microsoft Security Essentials) is turned OFF. I am logged into Windows 7 as Administrator with full control, so authority/permission to install is not an issue. I then went to the Corel website to download the several update/bug fixes to Office X3. Office X3 installed ok (though the file structure of Windows 7 is much different than XP). I just scrapped that computer and purchased a machine with Windows 7 Professional. I've had Office X3 on my Windows XP machine for a few years. ![]()
